Reflect on Emails

What do these letters have in common? They all have one thing in mind and it is asking donations. Also, it all through an email and not a hand writes letters. What are the big differences? The biggest difference is the format of each email of how they want you to see how important they need the donations. Also, you can see in each email they have included or emphasized what they want us to look at in their email. For example, three of the emails has a picture to portray what they want us to look at, so we can see why we are donating. One using bold text for people to see how important the message is getting across. What tools do the organizations use to persuade the reader to donate? think using different ways to persuade the donors is important. Like using charts, or pictures, or even the layout to show how your nonprofit organization works. Most importantly I feel like I learned this in high school graphic design class but it all about how its appealing to the eye and how...

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!

In a summary I believe, “The Hasbro Summer Learning Initiative” is a summer program that helps to provide some academic skills to keep up, so the children don’t lose any skills when school starts. They want to make sure to that the programs are hand on to ensure an enriched/ excited program during the summer. Also, more than 1,100 children and youth are being served in 14 programs in 10 communities across the state of Rhode Island by HSLI. They are addressing the problem by helping the student retain information and skills that they have learned in school. Therefore, the problem that student won’t be able to remember or lost the skills set won’t be a problem if they just join the 6-week program that’s in the summer. I think that this 6-week program, this aligns with purposeful play and care. ·         The children are learning through play different activities, but also it helps bridging the achievement gap. ·      ...

The Rhode Island Foundation

The mission statement of The Rhode Island Foundation is; “The Rhode Island Foundation is a proactive community and philanthropic leader dedicated to meeting the needs of the people of Rhode Island.” This foundation was founded in 1916 and is the nation’s oldest and largest community foundations. Also, they are the largest funder of Rhode Island’s nonprofit sectors, which also means it’s the only community foundation too. There is a quote that the founders wrote, “There is a growing belief that the charitable problems of each generation can better be, and should be, solved by the best minds of each generation.” It doesn’t really say who donate or where the money comes from. It’s more like who they donate to and what kind of funds there are in the foundation. Here are a few of their grant programs: ·         Barrington District Nursing Association Fund: Supports programs that ensure the physical and mental health and well-being of Barrington re...
