PASA's Team Member
I decided to choose to pick
Rebecca Petrarta;
She
is the AfterZone Program Manager which mean she oversees the daily task of each
of the programs. For Example, the daily tasks/operations for the AfterZone for PASA
and manages the AfterZone AmeriCorps program supporting 20 AmeriCorps members
in their service in the AfterZone program. Rebecca has played many roles within
PASA before assuming the role of Program Manager; first as a Program Support
Staff in the Summer Scholars Camp at Roger Williams Middle School, the
Assistant Site Coordinator then Site Coordinator for the AfterZone at DelSesto
Middle School, before taking on the role of Operations Coordinator for the
AfterZone program.
Before
joining the PASA’s team, she volunteered as the Peer Mentor to RIC’s
Scholarships for Service Student Civic Fellows: AmeriCorps Program, working
closely with the program leader to mentor ten college students in their
completion of volunteer hours and documentation. She received a BA in English
from Rhode Island College.
What
I feel excites me about the position is taking/ overseeing each and ever
program altogether. I feel like doing
that would be maybe the right spot for me, because I like taking care of the
programs like paperwork or helping organize what needs to happen. I feel like
the challenges that would be difficult is to keep track of what program are where and what they are doing that
day. I would have to figure out a process to remember how to know. But also, I
feel like connecting with everyone at each program would be hard too.
My
question is what kind of desk work do you have
if any?
