Creating/Understanding Mission Statements

“The mission of the YMCA of Greater Providence is to build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, through programs, services, and relationships that are based upon our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.                The vision of the YMCA of greater providence is to become the most valued resource for families and individuals seeking healthy lifestyles and wellness.”                The mission statement in my own words: The YMCA of Greater Providence will become a place where they want to help create a space that will shape healthy spirit, mind, and body for everyone. NONPROFIT Being Defined

What truly is a NONPROFIT?? Nonprofits can be a charity or nongovernmental organization . Also, they are not making a profit or by what they give away in general. For example, YMCA, SoupKitchen, American Red Cross, and Creative Commons. These organizations need volunteers to work to help them out with what they need to be done to bring them together. Also, it is defined by the tax statue , because the money that they have left needs to be spent on like, having volunteers or having different directors on the board. These components will help the various community to expand nonprofit and the diverse community. The few characteristics that are in the reading is having a purpose like the mission statement. Putting out there what the organizations so people can understand the meaning.
